¹⁰ He brought him all these and cut them in two, laying each half over against the other, but he did not cut the birds in two.^(A)

¹⁸ And those who transgressed my covenant and did not keep the terms of the covenant that they made before me, I will make like^[a] the calf when they cut it in two and passed between its parts:^{(A) 19} the officials of Judah, the officials of Jerusalem, the eunuchs, the priests, and all the people of the land who passed between the parts of the calf

¹⁷ He shall tear it open by its wings without severing it. Then the priest shall turn it into smoke on the altar, on the wood that is on the fire; it is a burnt offering, an offering by fire^[a] of pleasing odor to the Lord.^(A)

¹⁷ When the sun had gone down and it was dark, a smoking fire pot and a flaming torch passed between these pieces.^(A)

¹⁵ Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved by him, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly explaining the word of truth.
