27 For it is written,(A)
Rejoice, childless woman,(B)
unable to give birth.
Burst into song and shout,
you who are not in labour,
for the children of the desolate woman will be many,
more numerous than those
of the woman who has a husband.[a](C)
28 Now you too, brothers and sisters, like Isaac,(D) are children of promise.(E) 29 But just as then the child born as a result of the flesh persecuted the one born as a result of the Spirit,(F) so also now.(G)

shout for joy and cry aloud,
you who were never in labor;
because more are the children of the desolate woman
than of her who has a husband.”[a](A)
28 Now you, brothers and sisters, like Isaac, are children of promise.(B) 29 At that time the son born according to the flesh(C) persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit.(D) It is the same now.
