¹⁶ was pleased to reveal his Son to^[a] me, in order ^(A)that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult with anyone;^[b]

¹⁷ And Jesus answered him, ^(A)“Blessed are you, ^(B)Simon Bar-Jonah! For ^(C)flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, ^(D)but my Father who is in heaven.

⁵ which was not made known to the sons of men in other generations as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit. ⁶ This mystery is^[a] that the Gentiles are ^(A)fellow heirs, ^(B)members of the same body, and ^(C)partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.

^7 (D)Of this gospel I was made ^(E)a minister according to the gift of ^(F)God's grace, which was given me ^(G)by the working of his power. ⁸ To me, ^(H)though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, ^(I)to preach to the Gentiles the ^(J)unsearchable ^(K)riches of Christ, ⁹ and ^(L)to bring to light for everyone what is the plan of the mystery ^(M)hidden for ages in^[b] God, ^(N)who created all things, ¹⁰ so that through the church the manifold ^(O)wisdom of God ^(P)might now be made known to ^(Q)the rulers and authorities ^(R)in the heavenly places.

¹² For ^(A)we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against ^(B)the rulers, against the authorities, against ^(C)the cosmic powers over ^(D)this present darkness, against ^(E)the spiritual forces of evil ^(F)in the heavenly places.

The Mystery of the Gospel Revealed

3 For this reason I, Paul, ^(A)a prisoner of Christ Jesus ^(B)on behalf of you Gentiles—

¹⁷ that ^(A)the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, ^(B)may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, ^18 (C)having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is ^(D)the hope to which he has called you, what are ^(E)the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,

Paul Called by God

¹¹ For ^(A)I would have you know, brothers, that ^(B)the gospel that was preached by me is not man's gospel.^{[a] 12 (C)}For I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it, but I received it ^(D)through a revelation of Jesus Christ.

⁶ For God, who said, ^(A)“Let light shine out of darkness,” ^(B)has shone in our hearts to give ^(C)the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

⁹ But, as it is written,

¹⁰ these things ^(D)God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even ^(E)the depths of God. ¹¹ For who knows a person's thoughts ^(F)except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. ¹² Now ^(G)we have received not ^(H)the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. ¹³ And we impart this ^(I)in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, ^(J)interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.^[a]
