17 Jacob estaba asustado y dijo: «¡Qué lugar tan aterrador es este! Esta debe ser la casa de Dios y puerta del cielo».
18 A la mañana siguiente, Jacob se levantó muy temprano, tomó la piedra que había puesto bajo su cabeza, la colocó a manera de recordatorio y derramó aceite sobre ella para dedicársela a Dios. 19 Esa ciudad se llamaba Luz, pero Jacob le cambió el nombre y le puso Betel[a].

17 He was afraid and said, “How awesome is this place!(A) This is none other than the house of God;(B) this is the gate of heaven.”
18 Early the next morning Jacob took the stone he had placed under his head(C) and set it up as a pillar(D) and poured oil on top of it.(E) 19 He called that place Bethel,[a](F) though the city used to be called Luz.(G)
