2 But it was in the fortress of Ecbatana in the province of Media(A) that a scroll was found with this record written on it:
3 In the first year of King Cyrus, he issued a decree(B) concerning the house of God in Jerusalem:
Let the house be rebuilt as a place for offering sacrifices, and let its original foundations be retained.[a] Its height is to be ninety feet[b] and its width ninety feet,(C) 4 with three layers of cut[c] stones and one of timber.(D) The cost is to be paid from the royal treasury.[d](E)

2 A scroll was found in the citadel of Ecbatana in the province of Media, and this was written on it:
Memorandum:
3 In the first year of King Cyrus, the king issued a decree concerning the temple of God in Jerusalem:
Let the temple be rebuilt as a place to present sacrifices, and let its foundations be laid.(A) It is to be sixty cubits[a] high and sixty cubits wide, 4 with three courses(B) of large stones and one of timbers. The costs are to be paid by the royal treasury.(C)

3 In the first year of King Cyrus, King Cyrus issued a (B)decree concerning the house of God at Jerusalem: “Let the house be rebuilt, the place where they offered sacrifices; and let the foundations of it be firmly laid, its height sixty cubits and its width sixty cubits, 4 (C)with three rows of heavy stones and one row of new timber. Let the (D)expenses be paid from the king’s treasury.

4 With three rows of great stones, and a row of new timber: and let the expenses be given out of the king's house:
