2 Atunci, Zorobabel(A), fiul lui Şealtiel, şi Iosua, fiul lui Ioţadac, s-au sculat şi au început zidirea Casei lui Dumnezeu la Ierusalim. Şi împreună cu ei erau şi prorocii lui Dumnezeu care-i ajutau. 3 În aceeaşi vreme, Tatnai(B), dregătorul de dincoace de Râu, Şetar-Boznai şi tovarăşii lor de slujbă au venit la ei şi le-au vorbit aşa: „Cine(C) v-a dat învoire să zidiţi casa aceasta şi să ridicaţi zidurile acestea?” 4 Ei le-au mai(D) zis: „Care sunt numele oamenilor care zidesc clădirea aceasta?”

2 Then Zerubbabel(A) son of Shealtiel and Joshua(B) son of Jozadak set to work(C) to rebuild the house of God in Jerusalem. And the prophets of God were with them, supporting them.
3 At that time Tattenai,(D) governor of Trans-Euphrates, and Shethar-Bozenai(E) and their associates went to them and asked, “Who authorized you to rebuild this temple and to finish it?”(F) 4 They[a] also asked, “What are the names of those who are constructing this building?”
