² then ^(A)Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and Jeshua the son of Jozadak rose up and began to rebuild the house of God which is in Jerusalem; and ^(B)the prophets of God were with them, supporting them.

⁴ But now ^[a](A)take courage, Zerubbabel,’ declares the Lord, ‘take courage also, Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and all you people of the land take courage,’ declares the Lord, ‘and work; for ^(B)I am with you,’ declares the Lord of armies.

⁵ ‘As for the ^[a](A)promise which I ^[b]made you when you came out of Egypt, ^[c]My ^(B)Spirit remains in your midst; ^(C)do not fear!’
