23 La palabra del Señor vino a mí, y me dijo:
2 «Hijo de hombre: Había dos mujeres, hijas de la misma madre, 3 que desde su juventud se prostituyeron en Egipto, pues dejaron que les estrujaran y manosearan sus pechos virginales. 4 La mayor se llamaba Aholá,[a] y su hermana menor se llamaba Aholibá.[b] Las dos llegaron a ser mías, y tuvieron hijos e hijas. Aholá es el nombre de Samaria, y Aholibá es el de Jerusalén.
5 »Aholá me fue infiel. Todavía era mi mujer cuando se enamoró de los asirios, que eran vecinos suyos, y los hizo sus amantes 6 al ver que todos ellos eran jóvenes y atractivos, gobernadores y capitanes vestidos de púrpura, soldados de caballería. 7 ¡Se prostituyó con todos aquellos de quienes se enamoró! ¡Se prostituyó con la flor y nata de los asirios! ¡Se contaminó con todos sus ídolos! 8 Desde que estaba en Egipto, nunca dejó de portarse como una prostituta. Desde que era joven, muchos se acostaron con ella y le estrujaron sus pechos virginales, y desahogaron con ella sus apetitos sexuales. 9 Por eso la dejé caer en manos de sus amantes los asirios, de los que ella se había enamorado. 10 Ellos la conocieron tal y como vino al mundo, y poseyeron a sus hijos y sus hijas, y a ella le quitaron la vida. Tan famosa llegó a ser, que las mujeres la tomaron como escarmiento.
11 »Cuando su hermana Aholibá vio esto, se encendió de lujuria más que su hermana Aholá, y se corrompió más que ella con sus prostituciones. 12 Se enamoró de los asirios, que eran vecinos suyos, pues todos ellos eran jóvenes y atractivos, gobernadores y capitanes, soldados de caballería que se vestían de púrpura y portaban armas excelentes. 13 Yo la vi contaminarse y seguir el mismo camino que el de su hermana. 14 Pero Aholibá se corrompió más todavía. Cuando en las paredes vio pintadas coloridas imágenes de caldeos 15 ceñidos con cinturones y con la cabeza cubierta de turbantes de colores, todos ellos con apariencia de capitanes, como la de los babilonios nacidos en Caldea, 16 se enamoró de ellos a primera vista y les envió mensajeros a su tierra. 17 Fue así como los babilonios se allegaron a ella en su lecho de amores, y la contaminaron, y también ella se contaminó con ellos, hasta quedar hastiada. 18 No disimuló sus prostituciones, sino que se mostró tal cual era. Por eso me hastié de ella, como antes me había hastiado de su hermana. 19 Y sus fornicaciones fueron en aumento, pues trajo a la memoria sus días de juventud, cuando se prostituyó en Egipto. 20 Se enamoró de sus amantes, lujuriosos como los asnos y los caballos, 21 y evocó la lujuria de su juventud, cuando los egipcios le estrujaban sus pechos virginales.»
22 Por lo tanto, Aholibá, así ha dicho tu Dios y Señor:
«Mira que voy a hacer que tus amantes, de los cuales quedaste hastiada, vengan contra ti y te pongan sitio. 23 Vendrán los babilonios, y todos los caldeos; los de Pecod, Soa y Coa, y los asirios; todos ellos jóvenes y atractivos, gobernadores y capitanes, nobles y distinguidos; todos ellos soldados de caballería. 24 Vendrán contra ti con carros y carretas de guerra, y con grandes ejércitos; te rodearán, armados de escudos, paveses y yelmos, y yo les permitiré dictar sentencia contra ti de acuerdo con sus leyes. 25 Descargaré mi enojo sobre ti, y con su furia te maltratarán; te quitarán la nariz y las orejas, y los que te sobrevivan caerán a filo de espada. Se llevarán por la fuerza a tus hijos y a tus hijas, y tus sobrevivientes serán consumidos por el fuego. 26 Además, te despojarán de tus vestidos y te arrebatarán todos los adornos que te embellecen. 27 Voy a poner fin a tu lujuria y a las prostituciones que trajiste de Egipto, y no volverás a poner tus ojos en todo eso, ni nunca más te acordarás de Egipto.»
28 Así ha dicho Dios el Señor:
«Mira que voy a entregarte en manos de aquellos a los que aborreciste, en manos de los que te dejaron hastiada. 29 Ellos te tratarán con odio, y se apoderarán del fruto de tu trabajo. Te dejarán completamente desnuda, y la inmundicia de tus prostituciones y tu insaciable lujuria quedarán al descubierto. 30 Todo esto se hará contigo porque fuiste en pos de las naciones para prostituirte con ellas, y para contaminarte con sus ídolos. 31 Puesto que seguiste los pasos de tu hermana, yo te haré beber del mismo cáliz.»
32 Así ha dicho Dios el Señor:
«Beberás del mismo cáliz de tu hermana, hondo y ancho y de gran capacidad. Serás la burla de las naciones, que te pondrán en ridículo. 33 Con el cáliz de tu hermana Samaria, que es un cáliz de soledad y desolación, quedarás embriagada de dolor. 34 Beberás hasta la última gota, y luego harás pedazos el cáliz y te desgarrarás el pecho, porque yo lo he dicho.»
Palabra de Dios el Señor.
35 Por lo tanto, así ha dicho Dios el Señor:
«Puesto que te has olvidado de mí y me has vuelto la espalda, tendrás que sufrir las consecuencias de tu lujuria y de tus prostituciones.»
36 El Señor me dijo:
«Hijo de hombre, ¿qué, no vas a dictar sentencia contra Aholá y Aholibá? ¿No vas a reprocharles sus hechos repugnantes? 37 Son unas adúlteras, unas asesinas, ¡amantes de sus ídolos! A los hijos que me dieron, ¡los hicieron pasar por el fuego y los quemaron! 38 No conformes con todo eso, ese mismo día contaminaron mi santuario y profanaron mis días de reposo. 39 El mismo día en que ofrecieron a sus hijos como sacrificio a sus ídolos, entraron en mi santuario para contaminarlo. ¡Eso hicieron en mi propio templo! 40 Para colmo, mandaron traer hombres de otros países lejanos; y cuando esos hombres llegaron, ellas, para agradarles, se lavaron, se pintaron los ojos y se pusieron sus mejores vestidos; 41 luego se sentaron en un suntuoso estrado, y les ofrecieron un banquete, y en él pusieron mi incienso y mi aceite. 42 Durante el banquete podían oírse las voces de gente que se divertía, y junto con el común de la gente vinieron los sabeos del desierto, a los que pusieron pulseras en las manos y coronaron con bellas diademas.
43 »Al ver a estas inveteradas adúlteras, pensé: ¿Acaso éstos todavía van a tener relaciones sexuales con ellas? 44 ¡Porque han venido a verlas, como quien va en busca de rameras! ¡Así han venido con estas depravadas de Aholá y Aholibá! 45 Por eso los hombres justos las juzgarán conforme a la ley que castiga a las adúlteras y a las asesinas. Porque eso es lo que son: ¡adúlteras y asesinas!»
46 Por lo tanto, así ha dicho Dios el Señor:
«Yo haré que vengan tropas contra ellas, y las entregaré a la confusión y a la rapiña. 47 El populacho las apedreará y las pasará a filo de espada; a sus hijos y a sus hijas los matarán, y a sus casas les prenderán fuego. 48 Pondré fin a la lujuria de la tierra, y haré que todas las mujeres escarmienten y no sigan con sus perversas costumbres. 49 Y sobre ustedes dos recaerán las consecuencias de su perversidad, y pagarán por los pecados de su idolatría. Así sabrán que yo soy su Dios y Señor.»

23 La palabra del Señor vino a mí y me dijo: 2 «Hijo de hombre, te cuento que había dos mujeres, hijas de una misma madre. 3 Desde jóvenes se hicieron prostitutas en Egipto. En esa tierra fueron manoseados sus pechos, sus pechos virginales fueron acariciados. 4 La mayor se llamaba Aholá y la menor, Aholibá. Me uní a ellas y me dieron hijos e hijas. Aholá representa a Samaria y su hermana Aholibá a Jerusalén.
5 »Mientras Aholá me pertenecía, se prostituyó y se enamoró perdidamente de sus amantes los asirios, 6 todos ellos guerreros vestidos de color azul, gobernadores y oficiales, jóvenes apuestos y hábiles jinetes. 7 Como una prostituta, se entregó a lo mejor de los asirios; se contaminó con todos los ídolos por los que sintió pasión. 8 Jamás abandonó la prostitución que había comenzado a practicar en Egipto. Desde su juventud, fueron muchos los que se acostaron con ella; fueron muchos los que acariciaron sus pechos virginales y desahogaron su lujuria con ella.
9 »Por eso la entregué en manos de sus amantes, los asirios, con quienes ella se apasionó. 10 Y ellos la desnudaron, le quitaron sus hijos y sus hijas, y la mataron a filo de espada. Fue tal el castigo que ella recibió que se convirtió en ejemplo para las mujeres.
11 »Aunque su hermana Aholibá vio esto, dio rienda suelta a sus pasiones y se prostituyó aún más que su hermana. 12 Ella también se enamoró perdidamente de los asirios, todos ellos gobernadores y oficiales, guerreros vestidos con mucho lujo, hábiles jinetes y jóvenes muy apuestos. 13 Yo pude darme cuenta de que ella se había contaminado y seguido el ejemplo de su hermana.
14 »Pero Aholibá llevó más allá sus prostituciones. Vio en la pared figuras de babilonios[a] pintadas de rojo, 15 con cinturones y amplios turbantes en la cabeza. Todos ellos tenían aspecto de oficiales y se parecían a los habitantes de Babilonia.[b] 16 Al verlos, se enamoró de ellos perdidamente y envió mensajeros a Babilonia.[c] 17 Los babilonios vinieron y se acostaron con ella en el lecho de sus pasiones. A tal punto la contaminaron con sus prostituciones que se hastió de ellos. 18 Pero exhibiendo su desnudez, practicó con descaro la prostitución. Entonces me hastié de ella, como antes me había hastiado de su hermana. 19 Pero ella multiplicó sus prostituciones, recordando los días de su juventud cuando en Egipto había sido una prostituta. 20 Allí se había enamorado perdidamente de sus amantes, cuyos genitales eran como los de un asno y su semen como el de un caballo. 21 Así echó de menos la lujuria de su juventud, cuando los egipcios manoseaban sus senos y acariciaban sus pechos virginales.
22 »Por eso, Aholibá, así dice el Señor y Dios: Voy a incitar contra ti a tus amantes, de los que te alejaste con disgusto. De todas partes traeré contra ti 23 a los babilonios y a todos los caldeos, a los de Pecod, Soa y Coa, y con ellos a los asirios, todos ellos jóvenes apuestos, gobernantes y oficiales, guerreros y hombres distinguidos, montados a caballo. 24 Vendrán contra ti con armas, carros de guerra y carretas; mucho pueblo con armadura, escudos y cascos. Les encargaré que te juzguen, y te castigarán según sus costumbres. 25 Descargaré sobre ti el furor de mi ira, y ellos te maltratarán con furia. Te cortarán la nariz y las orejas; a tus sobrevivientes los matarán a filo de espada. Te arrebatarán a tus hijos y a tus hijas, y los que aún queden con vida serán consumidos por el fuego. 26 Te arrancarán tus vestidos y te quitarán tus joyas. 27 Así pondré fin a tu lujuria y a tu prostitución que comenzaste en Egipto. Ya no desearás esas cosas ni te acordarás más de Egipto.
28 »Así dice el Señor y Dios: Voy a entregarte en manos de los que odias, en manos de los que te alejaste con disgusto. 29 Ellos te tratarán con odio y te despojarán de todas tus posesiones. Te dejarán completamente desnuda, y tus prostituciones quedarán al descubierto. Tu lujuria y tu promiscuidad 30 son la causa de todo esto, porque te prostituiste con las naciones y te contaminaste con sus ídolos. 31 Por cuanto has seguido los pasos de tu hermana, en castigo beberás la misma copa.
32 »Así dice el Señor y Dios:
»Beberás la copa de tu hermana,
una copa grande y profunda.
Llena está de burla y escarnio,
33 llena de embriaguez y dolor.
Es la copa de ruina y destrucción;
¡es la copa de tu hermana Samaria!
34 La beberás hasta la última gota,
la romperás en mil pedazos
y te desgarrarás los pechos,
porque yo lo he dicho,
afirma el Señor y Dios.
35 »Por eso, así dice el Señor y Dios: Por cuanto me has olvidado y me has dado la espalda, sufrirás las consecuencias de tu lujuria y de tus prostituciones».
36 El Señor me dijo: «Hijo de hombre, ¿juzgarás tú a Aholá y a Aholibá? ¡Échales en cara sus abominaciones! 37 Ellas han cometido adulterio y tienen las manos manchadas de sangre. Han cometido adulterio con sus ídolos y hasta han sacrificado a los hijos que me dieron, los han ofrecido como alimento a esos ídolos. 38 Además, me han ofendido contaminando mi santuario y a la vez profanando mis sábados. 39 El mismo día que sacrificaron a sus hijos para adorar a sus ídolos, entraron a mi santuario y lo profanaron. ¡Y lo hicieron en mi propia casa!
40 »Y por si fuera poco, mandaron a traer gente de muy lejos. Cuando esa gente llegó, ellas se bañaron, se pintaron los ojos y se adornaron con joyas; 41 luego se sentaron en un diván lujoso, frente a una mesa donde previamente habían colocado el incienso y el aceite que me pertenecen.
42 »Había ruido de una multitud despreocupada. Vinieron sabeos del desierto, junto a gente común. Adornaron a las mujeres poniéndoles brazaletes en sus muñecas y hermosas coronas sobre sus cabezas. 43 Pensé entonces en esa mujer desgastada por sus adulterios: “Ahora van a seguir aprovechándose de esa mujer prostituida”. 44 Y se acostaron con ella como quien se acuesta con una prostituta. Fue así como se acostaron con esas mujeres lascivas llamadas Aholá y Aholibá. 45 Pero los hombres justos les darán el castigo que merecen las mujeres asesinas y adúlteras, ¡porque son unas adúlteras y tienen las manos manchadas de sangre!
46 »En efecto, así dice el Señor y Dios: ¡Que se convoque a una multitud contra ellas, y que sean entregadas al terror y al saqueo! 47 ¡Que la multitud las apedree y las despedace con la espada! ¡Que maten a sus hijos y a sus hijas, y prendan fuego a sus casas!
48 »Yo pondré fin en el país a esta conducta llena de lascivia. Todas las mujeres quedarán advertidas y no seguirán su ejemplo. 49 Serán responsables de sus lascivias y pagarán las consecuencias de sus pecados de idolatría. Entonces sabrán que yo soy el Señor y Dios».

23 The word of the Lord came to me: 2 (A)“Son of man, there were (B)two women, the daughters of one mother. 3 (C)They played the whore in Egypt; (D)they played the whore (E)in their youth; there their breasts were pressed and their virgin bosoms[a] handled. 4 Oholah was the name of the elder and Oholibah the name of her sister. (F)They became mine, and they (G)bore sons and daughters. As for their names, Oholah is (H)Samaria, and Oholibah is Jerusalem.
5 “Oholah played the whore (I)while she was mine, and (J)she lusted after her lovers (K)the Assyrians, warriors 6 clothed in purple, (L)governors and commanders, (M)all of them desirable young men, (N)horsemen riding on horses. 7 She bestowed her whoring upon them, the choicest men of Assyria all of them, and she defiled herself with all the idols of everyone after whom she lusted. 8 She did not give up her whoring (O)that she had begun in Egypt; for in her youth men had lain with her and handled her virgin bosom and poured out their whoring lust upon her. 9 Therefore (P)I delivered her into the hands of her lovers, into the hands of the Assyrians, after whom she lusted. 10 (Q)These uncovered her nakedness; (R)they seized her sons and her daughters; and as for her, they killed her with the sword; and she became (S)a byword among women, (T)when judgment had been executed on her.
11 (U)“Her sister Oholibah saw this, and she became (V)more corrupt than her sister[b] in her lust and in her whoring, which was worse than that of her sister. 12 She lusted after the Assyrians, governors and commanders, warriors clothed in full armor, horsemen riding on horses, (W)all of them desirable young men. 13 And I saw that she was defiled; they both took the same way. 14 But she carried her whoring further. She saw men (X)portrayed on the wall, the (Y)images of (Z)the Chaldeans portrayed in vermilion, 15 wearing belts on their waists, with flowing turbans on their heads, all of them having the appearance of officers, a likeness of Babylonians whose native land was Chaldea. 16 When she saw them, she lusted after them and (AA)sent messengers to them (AB)in Chaldea. 17 And the Babylonians came to her (AC)into the bed of love, and they defiled her with their whoring lust. And after she was defiled by them, (AD)she turned from them in disgust. 18 When she carried on her whoring so openly and flaunted her nakedness, I turned in disgust from her, as I had turned in disgust from her sister. 19 Yet she increased her whoring, (AE)remembering the days of her youth, when she played the whore in the land of Egypt 20 and lusted after her lovers there, whose members were like those of donkeys, and whose issue was like that of horses. 21 Thus you longed for the lewdness of your youth, when the Egyptians handled your bosom and pressed[c] your young breasts.”
22 Therefore, O Oholibah, thus says the Lord God: “Behold, I will stir up against you your lovers (AF)from whom you turned in disgust, (AG)and I will bring them against you from every side: 23 the Babylonians and all the Chaldeans, (AH)Pekod and Shoa and Koa, and all the Assyrians with them, (AI)desirable young men, (AJ)governors and commanders all of them, officers and men of renown, all of them riding on horses. 24 And they shall come against you from the north[d] with chariots and wagons and a host of peoples. (AK)They shall set themselves against you on every side with buckler, shield, and helmet; and (AL)I will commit the judgment to them, and (AM)they shall judge you according to their judgments. 25 And I will direct my jealousy against you, (AN)that they may deal with you in fury. They shall cut off your nose and your ears, and your survivors shall fall by the sword. (AO)They shall seize your sons and your daughters, and your survivors shall be devoured by fire. 26 (AP)They shall also strip you of your clothes and take away your beautiful jewels. 27 (AQ)Thus I will put an end to your lewdness and (AR)your whoring begun in the land of Egypt, so that you shall not lift up your eyes to them or remember Egypt anymore.
28 “For thus says the Lord God: (AS)Behold, I will deliver you into the hands of those whom you hate, (AT)into the hands of those from whom you turned in disgust, 29 and (AU)they shall deal with you in hatred and take away all the fruit of your labor (AV)and leave you naked and bare, and (AW)the nakedness of your whoring shall be uncovered. Your lewdness and your whoring 30 have brought this upon you, because (AX)you played the whore with the nations and defiled yourself with their idols. 31 You have gone the way of your sister; (AY)therefore I will give (AZ)her cup into your hand. 32 Thus says the Lord God:
“You shall drink your sister's cup
that is deep and large;
you shall be laughed at and held in derision,
for it contains much;
33 you will be filled with (BA)drunkenness and sorrow.
(BB)A cup of horror and desolation,
the cup of (BC)your sister Samaria;
34 (BD)you shall drink it and drain it out,
and gnaw its shards,
and tear your breasts;
for I have spoken, declares the Lord God. 35 Therefore thus says the Lord God: Because (BE)you have forgotten me and (BF)cast me behind your back, you yourself (BG)must bear the consequences of your lewdness and whoring.”
36 The Lord said to me: (BH)“Son of man, (BI)will you judge Oholah and Oholibah? Declare to them their abominations. 37 For (BJ)they have committed adultery, (BK)and blood is on their hands. With their idols they have committed adultery, and they have even (BL)offered up[e] to them for food the children whom they had borne to me. 38 Moreover, this they have done to me: (BM)they have defiled my sanctuary on the same day and (BN)profaned my Sabbaths. 39 For when (BO)they had slaughtered their children in sacrifice to their idols, on the same day (BP)they came into my sanctuary to profane it. And behold, (BQ)this is what they did in my house. 40 They even sent for men to come from afar, (BR)to whom a messenger was sent; and behold, they came. For them you bathed yourself, (BS)painted your eyes, (BT)and adorned yourself with ornaments. 41 You sat on (BU)a stately couch, with a table spread before it (BV)on which you had placed my incense and (BW)my oil. 42 The (BX)sound of a carefree multitude was with her; and with men of the common sort, drunkards[f] were brought from the wilderness; and they put (BY)bracelets on the hands of the women, and (BZ)beautiful crowns on their heads.
43 “Then I said of her who was worn out by adultery, ‘Now they will continue to use her for a whore, even her!’[g] 44 For they have gone in to her, as men go in to a prostitute. Thus they went in to Oholah and to Oholibah, lewd women! 45 But righteous men (CA)shall pass judgment on them with the sentence of adulteresses, and with the sentence of women who shed blood, because they are adulteresses, and blood is on their hands.”
46 For thus says the Lord God: (CB)“Bring up a vast host against them, and make them (CC)an object of terror and (CD)a plunder. 47 (CE)And the host shall stone them and cut them down with their swords. (CF)They shall kill their sons and their daughters, and (CG)burn up their houses. 48 (CH)Thus will I put an end to lewdness in the land, that all women may take warning and not commit lewdness as you have done. 49 And they shall return your lewdness upon you, and (CI)you shall bear the penalty for your sinful idolatry, and (CJ)you shall know that I am the Lord God.”
