³¹ And they come to you as people come, and sit before you as My people and hear your words, but they do not do them; for they do the lustful desires expressed by their ^(A)mouth, and their heart follows their unlawful ^(B)gain.

²¹ For from within, out of the ^[a]hearts of people, come the evil thoughts, acts of sexual immorality, thefts, murders, acts of adultery, ²² deeds of greed, wickedness, deceit, indecent behavior, ^[b](A)envy, slander, ^[c]pride, and foolishness.

¹⁵ But He said to them, “^(A)Beware, and be on your guard against every form of greed; for not even when one is affluent does his life consist of his possessions.”

⁵ Make sure that your character is ^(A)free from the love of money, ^(B)being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “^(C)I will never desert you, nor will I ever abandon you,”
