²⁰ The one who sins is the one who will die.^(A) The child will not share the guilt of the parent, nor will the parent share the guilt of the child. The righteousness of the righteous will be credited to them, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against them.^(B)

²³ Then Abraham approached him and said: “Will you sweep away the righteous with the wicked?^(A)

¹⁴ Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write^(A) this on a scroll as something to be remembered and make sure that Joshua hears it, because I will completely blot out^(B) the name of Amalek^(C) from under heaven.”

⁸ When I say to the wicked, ‘You wicked person, you will surely die,^(A)’ and you do not speak out to dissuade them from their ways, that wicked person will die for^[a] their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood.^(B)

²³ For the wages of sin is death,^(A) but the gift of God is eternal life^(B) in^[a] Christ Jesus our Lord.
