⁸ So it was, that while they were killing them, I was left alone; and I ^(A)fell on my face and cried out, and said, ^(B)“Ah, Lord God! Will You destroy all the remnant of Israel in pouring out Your fury on Jerusalem?”

¹³ Now it happened, while I was prophesying, that ^(A)Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then ^(B)I fell on my face and cried with a loud voice, and said, “Ah, Lord God! Will You make a complete end of the remnant of Israel?”

¹⁴ So I said, ^(A)“Ah, Lord God! Indeed I have never defiled myself from my youth till now; I have never eaten ^(B)what died of itself or was torn by beasts, nor has ^(C)abominable^[a] flesh ever come into my mouth.”

¹⁶ Then David lifted his eyes and ^(A)saw the angel of the Lord standing between earth and heaven, having in his hand a drawn sword stretched out over Jerusalem. So David and the elders, clothed in sackcloth, fell on their faces.

⁶ Then Joshua ^(A)tore his clothes, and fell to the earth on his face before the ark of the Lord until evening, he and the elders of Israel; and they ^(B)put dust on their heads.

⁴⁵ “Get away from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment.”

And they fell on their faces.

⁵ Then Moses and Aaron ^[a]fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of Israel.

² And so it was, when they had finished eating the grass of the land, that I said:
