¹⁰ “Therefore you, O son of man, say to the house of Israel: ‘Thus you say, “If our transgressions and our sins lie upon us, and we ^(A)pine^[a] away in them, ^(B)how can we then live?” ’

¹¹ Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the ^(A)whole house of Israel. They indeed say, ^(B)‘Our bones are dry, our hope is lost, and we ourselves are cut off!’

²³ Your turbans shall be on your heads and your sandals on your feet; ^(A)you shall neither mourn nor weep, but ^(B)you shall pine away in your iniquities and mourn with one another.
