⁷But the magicians used their magic to do the same thing. They also made frogs come up on the land of Egypt.

⁸Then Pharaoh called Moses and Aaron to come to him. He said, ‘Pray to the Lord. Ask him to remove the frogs from me and from my people. Then I will let your people go. They can offer sacrifices to the Lord.’

⁹Moses said to Pharaoh, ‘I will let you choose the time when I should pray to God. Then I will ask God to do this for you, for your servants and for your people. I will ask God to remove the frogs from you and from all your houses. The frogs will remain only in the Nile river.’

⁷But the magicians did the same things by their secret arts;^(A) they also made frogs come up on the land of Egypt.

⁸Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “Pray^(B) to the Lord to take the frogs away from me and my people, and I will let your people go to offer sacrifices^(C) to the Lord.”

⁹Moses said to Pharaoh, “I leave to you the honor of setting the time^(D) for me to pray for you and your officials and your people that you and your houses may be rid of the frogs, except for those that remain in the Nile.”

⁸Then Pharaoh called Moses and Aaron and said, ^(B)“Plead with the Lord to take away the frogs from me and from my people, and ^(C)I will let the people go to sacrifice to the Lord.” ⁹Moses said to Pharaoh, “Be pleased to command me when ^(D)I am to plead for you and for your servants and for your people, that the frogs be cut off from you and your houses and be left only in the Nile.”
