⁷ Then the Lord said, ‘I have observed the misery of my people in Egypt, and have heard them crying out^(A) because of their oppressors. I know about their sufferings,

²³ If you do mistreat them, they will no doubt cry to me, and I will certainly hear their cry.^(A)

⁴ Look! The pay that you withheld from the workers^(A) who mowed your fields cries out, and the outcry of the harvesters has reached the ears of the Lord of Armies.^(B)
