The Bronze Altar

27 “Now you shall make ^(A)the altar of acacia wood, ^[a]five cubits long and five cubits wide; the altar shall be square, and its height shall be ^[b]three cubits. ² You shall make ^(B)its horns on its four corners; its horns shall be of one piece with it, and you shall overlay it with ^[c]bronze. ³ And you shall make its pails for removing its ashes, and its shovels, its basins, its forks, and its firepans; you shall make all its utensils of bronze. ⁴ You shall also make for it a grating, a netting of bronze, and on the netting you shall make four bronze rings ^[d]at its four corners. ⁵ And you shall put it under the ledge of the altar, so that the netting will reach halfway up the altar. ⁶ You shall also make carrying poles for the altar, poles of acacia wood and overlay them with bronze. ⁷ Its poles shall be inserted into the rings, so that the poles will be on the two sides of the altar ^(C)when it is carried. ⁸ You shall make it hollow with planks; ^(D)as it was shown to you on the mountain, so they shall make it.

Courtyard of the Tabernacle

⁹ “Now you shall make ^(E)the courtyard of the ^[e]tabernacle. ^[f]On the south side there shall be hangings for the courtyard of fine twisted linen, a ^[g]hundred cubits long for one side; ¹⁰ and its pillars shall be twenty, with their twenty bases of bronze; the hooks of the pillars and their ^[h]bands shall be of silver. ¹¹ Likewise for the north side in length there shall be hangings a ^[i]hundred cubits long, and its twenty pillars with their twenty bases of bronze; the hooks of the pillars and their bands shall be of silver. ¹² For the width of the courtyard on the west side shall be hangings of ^[j]fifty cubits, with their ten pillars and their ten bases. ¹³ The width of the courtyard on the ^[k]east side shall be fifty cubits. ¹⁴ The hangings for the one ^[l]side of the gate shall be ^[m]fifteen cubits, with their three pillars and their three bases. ¹⁵ And for the ^[n]other ^[o]side there shall be hangings of fifteen cubits, with their three pillars and their three bases. ¹⁶ And for the gate of the courtyard there shall be a curtain of ^[p]twenty cubits, of ^[q]violet, purple, and scarlet material and fine twisted linen, the work of a ^[r]weaver, with their four pillars and their four bases. ¹⁷ All the pillars around the courtyard shall be joined together with silver, with their hooks of silver and their bases of bronze. ¹⁸ The length of the courtyard shall be a ^[s]hundred cubits, and the width fifty throughout, and the height five cubits of fine twisted linen, and their bases of bronze. ¹⁹ All the utensils of the tabernacle used in all its service, and all its pegs, and all the pegs of the courtyard, shall be of bronze.

²⁰ “And you shall command the sons of Israel that they bring you ^(F)clear oil of beaten olives for the ^[t]light, to make a lamp ^[u]burn continually. ²¹ In the ^(G)tent of meeting, outside ^(H)the veil which is before the testimony, ^(I)Aaron and his sons shall keep it in order from evening to morning before the Lord; it shall be a permanent ^(J)statute throughout their generations ^[v]for the sons of Israel.

Follow the Spirit

5 ^(A)It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore ^(B)keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a ^(C)yoke of slavery.

² Look! I, ^(D)Paul, tell you that if you have yourselves ^(E)circumcised, Christ will be of no benefit to you. ³ And I ^(F)testify again to every man who has himself ^(G)circumcised, that he is obligated to ^(H)keep the whole Law. ⁴ You have been severed from Christ, you who ^[a]are seeking to be justified by the ^[b]Law; you have ^(I)fallen from grace. ⁵ For we, ^[c]through the Spirit, ^[d]by faith, are ^(J)waiting for the hope of righteousness. ⁶ For in ^(K)Christ Jesus ^(L)neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, but ^(M)faith working through love.

⁷ You were ^(N)running well; who hindered you from obeying the truth? ⁸ This persuasion did not come from ^(O)Him who calls you. ^9 (P)A little ^[e]leaven leavens the whole lump of dough. ^10 (Q)I have confidence ^[f]in you in the Lord, that you ^(R)will adopt no other view; but the one who is ^(S)disturbing you will bear the punishment, whoever he is. ¹¹ But as for me, brothers and sisters, if I still preach circumcision, why am I still ^(T)persecuted? Then ^(U)the stumbling block of the cross has been eliminated. ¹² I wish that ^(V)those who are troubling you would even ^[g](W)emasculate themselves.

¹³ For you were called to ^(X)freedom, brothers and sisters; ^(Y)only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but ^(Z)serve one another through love. ¹⁴ For ^(AA)the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, “^(AB)You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” ¹⁵ But if you ^(AC)bite and devour one another, take care that you are not consumed by one another.

¹⁶ But I say, ^(AD)walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out ^(AE)the desire of the flesh. ¹⁷ For ^(AF)the desire of the flesh is against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, ^(AG)in order to keep you from doing whatever you want. ¹⁸ But if you are ^(AH)led by the Spirit, ^(AI)you are not under the Law. ¹⁹ Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: ^(AJ)sexual immorality, impurity, indecent behavior, ²⁰ idolatry, ^(AK)witchcraft, hostilities, ^(AL)strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, ^(AM)selfish ambition, dissensions, ^(AN)factions, ²¹ envy, ^(AO)drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not ^(AP)inherit the kingdom of God. ²² But ^(AQ)the fruit of the Spirit is ^(AR)love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, ²³ gentleness, ^(AS)self-control; against such things ^(AT)there is no law. ²⁴ Now those who ^[h]belong to ^(AU)Christ Jesus ^(AV)crucified the flesh with its passions and ^(AW)desires.

²⁵ If we live by the Spirit, let’s follow ^(AX)the Spirit as well. ²⁶ Let’s not become ^(AY)boastful, challenging one another, envying one another.
