20 The cherubim shall spread out their wings above, overshadowing the mercy seat with their wings, their faces one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubim be. 21 And you shall put the mercy seat on the top of the ark; and in the ark you shall put the testimony that I shall give you. 22 There I will meet with you, and from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim that are upon the ark of the testimony, I will speak with you of all that I will give you in commandment for the people of Israel.

20 The cherubim(A) are to have their wings spread upward, overshadowing(B) the cover with them. The cherubim are to face each other, looking toward the cover. 21 Place the cover on top of the ark(C) and put in the ark the tablets of the covenant law(D) that I will give you. 22 There, above the cover between the two cherubim(E) that are over the ark of the covenant law, I will meet(F) with you and give you all my commands for the Israelites.(G)

22 And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.
