22 Tiveram um filho a quem Moisés chamou, Gerson,[a] porque ele se considerava um estrangeiro em terra estranha.
23 Anos mais tarde o rei do Egito morreu, mas os israelitas continuavam a sofrer sob o peso das suas cargas, escravizados e chorando amargamente perante Deus. 24 Ora Deus ouviu os seus clamores lá do céu e achou ter chegado o momento de cumprir a aliança feita com Abraão, Isaque e Jacob.

22 And she bore him a son. He called his name (A)Gershom,[a] for he said, “I have been (B)a [b]stranger in a foreign land.”
23 Now it happened (C)in the process of time that the king of Egypt died. Then the children of Israel (D)groaned because of the bondage, and they cried out; and (E)their cry came up to God because of the bondage. 24 So God (F)heard their groaning, and God (G)remembered His (H)covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.

22 Zipporah gave birth to a son, and Moses named him Gershom,[a](A) saying, “I have become a foreigner(B) in a foreign land.”
23 During that long period,(C) the king of Egypt died.(D) The Israelites groaned in their slavery(E) and cried out, and their cry(F) for help because of their slavery went up to God. 24 God heard their groaning and he remembered(G) his covenant(H) with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob.
