22 She gave birth to a son whom he named Gershom,[a] for he said, “I have been a resident alien(A) in a foreign land.”
23 After a long time, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned because of their difficult labor, they cried out,(B) and their cry for help because of the difficult labor ascended to God. 24 God heard their groaning, and God remembered(C) his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.(D)

Then the children of Israel (D)groaned because of the bondage, and they cried out; and (E)their cry came up to God because of the bondage. 24 So God (F)heard their groaning, and God (G)remembered His (H)covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.

22 Zipporah gave birth to a son, and Moses named him Gershom,[a](A) saying, “I have become a foreigner(B) in a foreign land.”
23 During that long period,(C) the king of Egypt died.(D) The Israelites groaned in their slavery(E) and cried out, and their cry(F) for help because of their slavery went up to God. 24 God heard their groaning and he remembered(G) his covenant(H) with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob.
