¹⁴ “Who made you a leader and judge over us?” the man replied. “Are you planning to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?”

Then Moses became afraid and thought: What I did is certainly known.

¹⁴ “Friend,”^[a] He said to him, “who appointed Me a judge or arbitrator over you?”

³⁵ “This Moses, whom they rejected when they said, Who appointed you a ruler and a judge?^[a]—this one God sent as a ruler and a redeemer by means of the angel who appeared to him in the bush.^(A)
