19 As the sound of the ram’s horn grew louder and louder, Moses spoke and God answered him in the thunder.(A)
20 The Lord came down on Mount Sinai at the top of the mountain. Then the Lord summoned Moses to the top of the mountain, and he went up. 21 The Lord directed Moses, “Go down and warn the people not to break through to see the Lord; otherwise many of them will die.(B)

19 As the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke and the voice(A) of God answered(B) him.[a]
20 The Lord descended to the top of Mount Sinai(C) and called Moses to the top of the mountain. So Moses went up 21 and the Lord said to him, “Go down and warn the people so they do not force their way through to see(D) the Lord and many of them perish.(E)
