⁸ Moses recounted to his father-in-law all that the Lord had done to Pharaoh and the Egyptians for Israel’s sake, all the hardships that confronted them on the way, and how the Lord rescued them.^(A)

¹⁹ Do not deny justice or show partiality to anyone. Do not accept a bribe, for it blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the righteous.^(A)

³ Brothers and sisters, select from among you seven men of good reputation,^(A) full of the Spirit^(B) and wisdom, whom we can appoint to this duty.
