Victory over the Amalekites^(A)

^8 (B)Now Amalek came and fought with Israel in Rephidim.

¹⁶ for he said, “Because ^[a]the Lord has ^(A)sworn: the Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.”

^7 (A)And Saul attacked the Amalekites, from ^(B)Havilah all the way to ^(C)Shur, which is east of Egypt.

^8 (A)He also took Agag king of the Amalekites alive, and ^(B)utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword.
