Exodus 15
Revised Geneva Translation
15 Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to the LORD, and spoke, saying, “I will sing to the LORD. For He has triumphed gloriously! The horse, and he who rode upon him, He has overthrown in the sea!
2 “The LORD is my strength and praise; and He has become my salvation. He is my God; and I will prepare a tabernacle for Him. He is my father’s God; and I will exalt Him.
3 “The LORD is a man of war. His Name is Jehovah.
4 “He has cast Pharaoh’s chariots and his army into the sea. His chosen captains were also drowned in the Red Sea.
5 “The depths have covered them. They sank to the bottom, as a stone.
6 “Your right hand, O LORD, is glorious in power. Your right hand, O LORD, has bruised the enemy.
7 “And in Your great Glory You have overthrown those who rose against You. You sent forth Your wrath, which consumed them as stubble.
8 “And by the blast of Your nostrils the waters were gathered. The floods stood still as a heap. The depths congealed together in the heart of the sea.
9 “The enemy said, ‘I will pursue! I will overtake them! I will divide the spoil! My lust shall be satisfied by them. I will draw my sword. My hand shall destroy them!’
10 “You blew with Your wind. The sea covered them; they sank as lead in the mighty waters.
11 “Who is like You, O LORD, among the gods! Who is like You—glorious in holiness, fearful in praises—doing wonders!
12 “You stretched out Your right hand. The Earth swallowed them.
13 “You will, by Your mercy, carry this people whom You delivered. In Your strength, You will bring them to Your holy habitation.
14 “The people shall hear and be afraid. Sorrow shall come upon the inhabitants of Philistia.
15 “Then the princes of Edom shall be amazed; and trembling shall come upon the great men of Moab. All the inhabitants of Canaan shall grow faint- hearted.
16 “Fear and dread shall fall upon them. Because of the greatness of Your arm, they shall be still as a stone until Your people pass, O LORD, until this people pass whom You have purchased.
17 “You shall bring them in and plant them on the mountain of Your inheritance, O LORD. You have prepared the dwelling place, O LORD, the sanctuary Your hands shall establish.
18 “The LORD shall reign forever and ever!”
19 For Pharaoh’s horses went, with his chariots and horsemen, into the sea; and the LORD brought the waters of the sea upon them. But the children of Israel went on dry land in the midst of the sea.
20 And Miriam the Prophetess, sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women came out after her, with timbrels and dances.
21 And Miriam answered the men, “Sing to the LORD! For He has triumphed gloriously! He has overthrown the horse and his rider in the sea!”
22 Then Moses brought Israel from the Red Sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur. And they went three days in the wilderness and found no water.
23 And when they came to Marah, they could not drink from the water of Marah, for they were bitter. Therefore, the name of the place was called “Marah”.
24 Then the people murmured against Moses, saying, “What shall we drink?”
25 And he cried to the LORD, and the LORD showed him a tree. When he cast into the waters, the waters became sweet. There He made an ordinance and a law to them; and there He tested them,
26 and said, “If you will diligently listen to the voice of the LORD, Your God, and will do that which is right in His sight, and will hear His Commandments, and keep all His Ordinances, then I will bring none of these diseases upon you which I brought upon the Egyptians. For I am the LORD Who heals you.”
27 And they came to Elim, where there were twelve fountains of water and seventy palm trees, and they camped there by the waters.
