Exodus 13:7-9

New International Version

⁷Eat unleavened bread during those seven days; nothing with yeast in it is to be seen among you, nor shall any yeast be seen anywhere within your borders. ⁸On that day tell your son,^(A) ‘I do this because of what the Lord did for me when I came out of Egypt.’ ⁹This observance will be for you like a sign on your hand^(B) and a reminder on your forehead^(C) that this law of the Lord is to be on your lips. For the Lord brought you out of Egypt with his mighty hand.^(D)

And ^(A)no leavened bread shall be seen among you, nor shall leaven be seen among you in all your quarters. ⁸And you shall ^(B)tell your son in that day, saying, ‘This is done because of what the Lord did for me when I came up from Egypt.’ ⁹It shall be as ^(C)a sign to you on your hand and as a memorial between your eyes, that the Lord’s law may be in your mouth; for with a strong hand the Lord has brought you out of Egypt.
