Exodus 13:11-22
New International Version
11 “After the Lord brings you into the land of the Canaanites(A) and gives it to you, as he promised on oath(B) to you and your ancestors,(C) 12 you are to give over to the Lord the first offspring of every womb. All the firstborn males of your livestock belong to the Lord.(D) 13 Redeem with a lamb every firstborn donkey,(E) but if you do not redeem it, break its neck.(F) Redeem(G) every firstborn among your sons.(H)
14 “In days to come, when your son(I) asks you, ‘What does this mean?’ say to him, ‘With a mighty hand the Lord brought us out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.(J) 15 When Pharaoh stubbornly refused to let us go, the Lord killed the firstborn of both people and animals in Egypt. This is why I sacrifice to the Lord the first male offspring of every womb and redeem each of my firstborn sons.’(K) 16 And it will be like a sign on your hand and a symbol on your forehead(L) that the Lord brought us out of Egypt with his mighty hand.”
Crossing the Sea
17 When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, “If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.”(M) 18 So God led(N) the people around by the desert road toward the Red Sea.[a] The Israelites went up out of Egypt ready for battle.(O)
19 Moses took the bones of Joseph(P) with him because Joseph had made the Israelites swear an oath. He had said, “God will surely come to your aid, and then you must carry my bones up with you from this place.”[b](Q)
20 After leaving Sukkoth(R) they camped at Etham on the edge of the desert.(S) 21 By day the Lord went ahead(T) of them in a pillar of cloud(U) to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night. 22 Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left(V) its place in front of the people.

Luke 8:34-56
New International Version
34 When those tending the pigs saw what had happened, they ran off and reported this in the town and countryside, 35 and the people went out to see what had happened. When they came to Jesus, they found the man from whom the demons had gone out, sitting at Jesus’ feet,(A) dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid. 36 Those who had seen it told the people how the demon-possessed(B) man had been cured. 37 Then all the people of the region of the Gerasenes asked Jesus to leave them,(C) because they were overcome with fear. So he got into the boat and left.
38 The man from whom the demons had gone out begged to go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying, 39 “Return home and tell how much God has done for you.” So the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him.
Jesus Raises a Dead Girl and Heals a Sick Woman(D)
40 Now when Jesus returned, a crowd welcomed him, for they were all expecting him. 41 Then a man named Jairus, a synagogue leader,(E) came and fell at Jesus’ feet, pleading with him to come to his house 42 because his only daughter, a girl of about twelve, was dying.
As Jesus was on his way, the crowds almost crushed him. 43 And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding(F) for twelve years,[a] but no one could heal her. 44 She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak,(G) and immediately her bleeding stopped.
45 “Who touched me?” Jesus asked.
When they all denied it, Peter said, “Master,(H) the people are crowding and pressing against you.”
46 But Jesus said, “Someone touched me;(I) I know that power has gone out from me.”(J)
47 Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. 48 Then he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you.(K) Go in peace.”(L)
49 While Jesus was still speaking, someone came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue leader.(M) “Your daughter is dead,” he said. “Don’t bother the teacher anymore.”
50 Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.”
51 When he arrived at the house of Jairus, he did not let anyone go in with him except Peter, John and James,(N) and the child’s father and mother. 52 Meanwhile, all the people were wailing and mourning(O) for her. “Stop wailing,” Jesus said. “She is not dead but asleep.”(P)
53 They laughed at him, knowing that she was dead. 54 But he took her by the hand and said, “My child, get up!”(Q) 55 Her spirit returned, and at once she stood up. Then Jesus told them to give her something to eat. 56 Her parents were astonished, but he ordered them not to tell anyone what had happened.(R)
