Exodus 11

The Last Plague
11 Now the Lord said to Moses, “One more plague I will bring on Pharaoh and on Egypt; (A)after that he will let you go from here. When he lets you go, he will assuredly drive you out from here completely. 2 Speak now [a]so that the people hear, that (B)each man is to ask of his neighbor, and each woman of her neighbor, articles of silver and articles of gold.” 3 And (C)the Lord gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. (D)Furthermore, the man Moses himself was [b]greatly esteemed in the land of Egypt, both in the sight of Pharaoh’s servants and in the sight of the people.
4 Then Moses said, “This is what the Lord says: ‘About (E)midnight I am going out into the midst of Egypt, 5 and (F)all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of the Pharaoh who sits on his throne, to the firstborn of the slave girl who is behind the millstones; all the firstborn of the cattle as well. 6 So there shall be (G)a great cry in all the land of Egypt, such as there has not been before and such as shall never be again. 7 (H)But not even a dog will [c]threaten any of the sons of Israel, nor anything from person to animal, so that you may [d]learn how the Lord distinguishes between Egypt and Israel.’ 8 And (I)all these servants of yours will come down to me and bow themselves [e]before me, saying, ‘Go out, you and all the people who [f]follow you,’ and after that I will go out.” (J)And he left Pharaoh in the heat of anger.
9 Then the Lord said to Moses, “(K)Pharaoh will not listen to you, so (L)that My wonders will be multiplied in the land of Egypt.” 10 So (M)Moses and Aaron performed all these wonders before Pharaoh; yet (N)the Lord [g]hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he did not let the sons of Israel go out of his land.

A Memorial of Redemption
23 For (A)the Lord will pass through to strike the Egyptians; but when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the Lord will pass over the door and will (B)not allow the (C)destroyer to come in to your houses to strike you. 24 And (D)you shall keep this event as an ordinance for you and your children forever. 25 When you enter the land which the Lord will give you, as He has [a]promised, you shall keep this [b]rite. 26 (E)And when your children say to you, ‘[c]What does this rite mean to you?’ 27 then you shall say, ‘It is a Passover sacrifice to (F)the Lord because He passed over the houses of the sons of Israel in Egypt when He struck the Egyptians, but [d]spared our homes.’” (G)And the people bowed low and worshiped.
28 Then the sons of Israel went and did so; just as the Lord had commanded Moses and Aaron, so they did.
29 Now it came about at (H)midnight that (I)the Lord struck all (J)the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of (K)cattle. 30 And Pharaoh got up in the night, he and all his servants and all the Egyptians, and there was (L)a great cry in Egypt, for there was no home where there was not someone dead. 31 Then (M)he called for Moses and Aaron at night and said, “Rise up, (N)get out from among my people, both you and the sons of Israel; and go, [e]worship the Lord, as you have said. 32 Take (O)both your flocks and your herds, as you have said, and go, and bless me also.”
