⁷^(A) the people of Israel became so numerous that the whole region of Goshen was full of them.

⁷And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them.

⁸^(A) Many years later a new king came to power. He did not know what Joseph had done for Egypt,

⁸Now there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph.
