5 L’Eternel dit à Moïse : Passe devant le peuple et emmène avec toi quelques responsables d’Israël. Prends à la main le bâton avec lequel tu as frappé le Nil et va ! 6 Quant à moi, je vais me tenir là devant toi sur un rocher du mont Horeb ; tu frapperas le rocher, de l’eau en jaillira et le peuple pourra boire[a].

5 The Lord answered Moses, “Go out in front of the people. Take with you some of the elders of Israel and take in your hand the staff(A) with which you struck the Nile,(B) and go. 6 I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb.(C) Strike(D) the rock, and water(E) will come out of it for the people to drink.” So Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel.
