³⁴ Now go, lead^(A) the people to the place^(B) I spoke of, and my angel^(C) will go before you. However, when the time comes for me to punish,^(D) I will punish them for their sin.”

God’s Angel to Prepare the Way

²⁰ “See, I am sending an angel^(A) ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared.^(B)

³⁵ And so upon you will come all the righteous blood that has been shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel^(A) to the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah,^(B) whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.^(C)

⁴ Or do you show contempt for the riches^(A) of his kindness,^(B) forbearance^(C) and patience,^(D) not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?^(E)

⁵ But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath^(F), when his righteous judgment^(G) will be revealed. ⁶ God “will repay each person according to what they have done.”^[a](H)
