¹³ But ^(A)every firstborn of a donkey you shall redeem with a lamb; and if you will not redeem it, then you shall break its neck. And all the firstborn of man among your sons ^(B)you shall redeem.

²⁰ But ^(A)the firstborn of a donkey you shall redeem with a lamb. And if you will not redeem him, then you shall break his neck. All the firstborn of your sons you shall redeem.

“And none shall appear before Me ^(B)empty-handed.

¹⁵ “Everything that first opens ^(A)the womb of all flesh, which they bring to the Lord, whether man or beast, shall be yours; nevertheless ^(B)the firstborn of man you shall surely redeem, and the firstborn of unclean animals you shall redeem. ¹⁶ And those redeemed of the devoted things you shall redeem when one month old, ^(C)according to your valuation, for five shekels of silver, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, which is ^(D)twenty gerahs. ^17 (E)But the firstborn of a cow, the firstborn of a sheep, or the firstborn of a goat you shall not redeem; they are holy. ^(F)You shall sprinkle their blood on the altar, and burn their fat as an offering made by fire for a sweet aroma to the Lord.

⁴ These are the ones who were not defiled with women, ^(A)for they are virgins. These are the ones ^(B)who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These ^(C)were ^[a]redeemed from among men, ^(D)being firstfruits to God and to the Lamb.

⁴⁶ And for ^(A)the redemption of the two hundred and seventy-three of the firstborn of the children of Israel, ^(B)who are more than the number of the Levites, ⁴⁷ you shall take ^(C)five shekels for each one ^(D)individually; you shall take them in the currency of the shekel of the sanctuary, ^(E)the shekel of twenty gerahs. ⁴⁸ And you shall give the money, with which the excess number of them is redeemed, to Aaron and his sons.”

⁴⁹ So Moses took the redemption money from those who were over and above those who were redeemed by the Levites. ⁵⁰ From the firstborn of the children of Israel he took the money, ^(F)one thousand three hundred and sixty-five shekels, according to the shekel of the sanctuary. ⁵¹ And Moses ^(G)gave their redemption money to Aaron and his sons, according to the word of the Lord, as the Lord commanded Moses.

²¹ Then ^(A)Moses called for all the ^(B)elders of Israel and said to them, ^(C)“Pick out and take lambs for yourselves according to your families, and kill the Passover lamb.

³ Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying: ‘On the ^(A)tenth of this month every man shall take for himself a lamb, according to the house of his father, a lamb for a household.
