⁵ All the descendants of Jacob were ^(A)seventy persons; Joseph was already in Egypt.

²² Your fathers went down to Egypt ^(A)seventy persons, and now the Lord your God has made you ^(B)as numerous as the stars of heaven.

²⁶ All the persons belonging to Jacob who came into Egypt, who were his own descendants, not including Jacob's sons' wives, were sixty-six persons in all. ²⁷ And the sons of Joseph, who were born to him in Egypt, were two. ^(A)All the persons of the house of Jacob who came into Egypt were seventy.

³⁰ Now Gideon had ^(A)seventy sons, his own offspring,^[a] for he had many wives.

^20 (A)So God dealt well with the midwives. And the people multiplied and grew very strong.
