⁴ The king asked, “Who is in the court?” Now Haman was just entering the outer court of the palace to ask the king to hang Mordecai on the gallows he had prepared for him.^(A)

⁹ Harbona, one of the king’s eunuchs,^(A) said, “There is a gallows seventy-five feet^[a] tall at Haman’s house that he made for Mordecai,^(B) who gave the report that saved^[b] the king.”^(C)

The king said, “Hang him on it.”

¹⁰ They hanged Haman on the gallows he had prepared for Mordecai.^(D) Then the king’s anger subsided.^(E)
