¹⁴ those closest to him being Carshena, Shethar, Admatha, Tarshish, Meres, Marsena, and Memucan, the ^(A)seven princes of Persia and Media, ^(B)who had access to the king’s presence, and who ^[a]ranked highest in the kingdom):

¹⁹ And the angel answered and said to him, “I am ^(A)Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and was sent to speak to you and bring you ^[a]these glad ^(B)tidings.

¹⁵ But they said to her, “You are beside yourself!” Yet she kept insisting that it was so. So they said, ^(A)“It is his angel.”
