9 (A)So the king’s scribes were summoned at that time in the third month (that is, the month Sivan), on the twenty-third [a]day; and it was written in accordance with everything that Mordecai commanded the Jews, the satraps, the governors, and the officials of the provinces which extended (B)from India to [b]Cush, 127 provinces, to (C)every province according to its script, and to every people according to their language, as well as to the Jews according to their script and their language.

New International Version
9 At once the royal secretaries were summoned—on the twenty-third day of the third month, the month of Sivan. They wrote out all Mordecai’s orders to the Jews, and to the satraps, governors and nobles of the 127 provinces stretching from India to Cush.[a](A) These orders were written in the script of each province and the language of each people and also to the Jews in their own script and language.(B)
