Marriage—Christ and the Church^(A)

²² Wives, ^(B)submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. ²³ For ^(C)the husband is head of the wife, as also ^(D)Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.

¹⁶ To the woman He said:

¹¹ Let a woman learn in silence with all submission. ¹² And ^(A)I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence. ¹³ For Adam was formed first, then Eve. ¹⁴ And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression. ¹⁵ Nevertheless she will be saved in childbearing if they continue in faith, love, and holiness, with self-control.

²⁸ You have heard Me ^(A)say to you, ‘I am going away and coming back to you.’ If you loved Me, you would rejoice because ^[a]I said, ^(B)‘I am going to the Father,’ for ^(C)My Father is greater than I.

The Humbled and Exalted Christ

^5 (A)Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, ⁶ who, ^(B)being in the form of God, did not consider it ^[a]robbery to be equal with God, ^7 (C)but ^[b]made Himself of no reputation, taking the form ^(D)of a bondservant, and ^(E)coming in the likeness of men. ⁸ And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and ^(F)became ^(G)obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. ^9 (H)Therefore God also ^(I)has highly exalted Him and ^(J)given Him the name which is above every name, ^10 (K)that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, ¹¹ and ^(L)that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
