Ephesians 3:14-21

Prayer for Spiritual Power

¹⁴For this reason I kneel^(A) before the Father^[a] ¹⁵from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named. ¹⁶I pray that he may grant you, according to the riches^(B) of his glory,^(C) to be strengthened with power^(D) in your inner being^(E) through his Spirit, ¹⁷and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. I pray that you, being rooted and firmly established in love, ¹⁸may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the length and width, height and depth of God’s love,^(F) ¹⁹and to know Christ’s love that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

²⁰Now to him who is able^(G) to do above and beyond all that we ask or think^(H) according to the power^(I) that works in us— ²¹to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.^(J)

The Forgiving God

¹My soul, bless the Lord,
and all that is within me, bless his holy name.^(A)
²My soul, bless the Lord,
and do not forget all his benefits.^(B)

³He forgives all your iniquity;^(C)
he heals all your diseases.^(D)
⁴He redeems your life from the Pit;^(E)
he crowns you with faithful love and compassion.^(F)
⁵He satisfies you^[a] with good things;^(G)
your youth is renewed like the eagle.^(H)

⁶The Lord executes acts of righteousness
and justice for all the oppressed.^(I)
⁷He revealed his ways to Moses,^(J)
his deeds to the people of Israel.^(K)
⁸The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in faithful love.^(L)
⁹He will not always accuse us
or be angry forever.^(M)
¹⁰He has not dealt with us as our sins deserve
or repaid us according to our iniquities.^(N)

¹¹For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his faithful love
toward those who fear him.^(O)
¹²As far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed
our transgressions from us.^(P)
¹³As a father has compassion on his children,
so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him.^(Q)
¹⁴For he knows what we are made of,
remembering that we are dust.^(R)

¹⁵As for man, his days are like grass—
he blooms like a flower of the field;^(S)
¹⁶when the wind passes over it, it vanishes,
and its place is no longer known.^[b]^(T)
¹⁷But from eternity to eternity
the Lord’s faithful love is toward those who fear him,
and his righteousness toward the grandchildren^(U)
¹⁸of those who keep his covenant,
who remember to observe his precepts.^(V)
¹⁹The Lord has established his throne in heaven,
and his kingdom rules over all.^(W)

²⁰Bless the Lord,
all his angels of great strength,
who do his word,
obedient to his command.^(X)
²¹Bless the Lord, all his armies,
his servants who do his will.^(Y)
²²Bless the Lord, all his works
in all the places where he rules.^(Z)
My soul, bless the Lord!
