Ecclesiastes 10:8-10
Darby Translation
8 He that diggeth a pit falleth into it; and whoso breaketh down a hedge, a serpent biteth him.
9 Whoso removeth stones is hurt therewith; he that cleaveth wood is endangered thereby.
10 If the iron be blunt, and one do not whet the edge, then must he apply more strength; but wisdom is profitable to give success.

Amplified Bible
8 He who digs a pit [for others] may fall into it, and a serpent may bite him who breaks through a [stone] wall.(A) 9 He who quarries stones may be hurt with them, and he who splits logs may be endangered by them.(B) 10 If the axe is dull and he does not sharpen its edge, then he must exert more strength; but wisdom [to sharpen the axe] helps him succeed [with less effort].
