7 Israel gjorde det som var ont i Herrens ögon. De glömde Herren, sin Gud, och tjänade baalerna och aserorna. 8 Då upptändes Herrens vrede mot Israel, och han sålde dem i Kusan-Risatajims hand, kungen i Aram-Naharajim. Och Israels barn tjänade Kusan-Risatajim i åtta år. 9 Men Israels barn ropade till Herren, och Herren lät då en frälsare uppstå bland dem som räddade dem, nämligen Otniel, son till Kenas, Kalebs yngre bror.

7 So the children of Israel did (A)evil in the sight of the Lord. They (B)forgot the Lord their God, and served the Baals and [a]Asherahs. 8 Therefore the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel, and He (C)sold them into the hand of (D)Cushan-Rishathaim king of Mesopotamia; and the children of Israel served Cushan-Rishathaim eight years. 9 When the children of Israel (E)cried out to the Lord, the Lord (F)raised up a deliverer for the children of Israel, who delivered them: (G)Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother.

7 The Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord; they forgot the Lord(A) their God and served the Baals and the Asherahs.(B) 8 The anger of the Lord burned against Israel so that he sold(C) them into the hands of Cushan-Rishathaim(D) king of Aram Naharaim,[a](E) to whom the Israelites were subject for eight years. 9 But when they cried out(F) to the Lord, he raised up for them a deliverer,(G) Othniel(H) son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother, who saved them.
