Israel’s Rebellion and Moses’ Intercession

⁷ “Remember^(A) and do not forget how you provoked the Lord your God in the wilderness. You have been rebelling against the Lord from the day you left the land of Egypt until you reached this place.

¹⁸ And for about 40 years He put up with them^[a] in the wilderness;^(A)

¹⁷ And who was He provoked with for 40 years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?^(A)
