⁹ “Only be on your guard and diligently watch yourselves,^(A) so that you don’t forget^(B) the things your eyes have seen and so that they don’t slip from your mind^[a] as long as you live. Teach them to your children and your grandchildren.^(C)

⁷ and so that you do not associate with these nations remaining among you. Do not call on the names of their gods or make an oath to them;^(A) do not serve them or bow in worship to them.

¹⁶ Pay close attention to your life and your teaching; persevere in these things, for in doing this you will save^(A) both yourself and your hearers.^(B)
