Choose Life

¹⁵ “See, ^(A)I have placed before you today life and ^[a]happiness, and death and ^[b]adversity,

^19 (A)I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have placed before you life and death, ^(B)the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your ^[a]descendants,

^20 (A)by loving the Lord your God, by obeying His voice, and ^(B)by holding close to Him; ^(C)for ^[a]this is your life and the length of your days, ^[b]so that you may live in ^(D)the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.”

²³ For the wages of ^(A)sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is ^(B)eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

⁶ But she who ^(A)indulges herself in luxury is ^(B)dead, even while she lives.

¹⁵ Then ^(A)when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and ^(B)sin, when it has run its course, brings forth death.
