⁵ I led you for forty years in the wilderness; your clothes and the sandals on your feet did not wear out;^(A)

² saying, ‘I am now 120 years old;^(A) I can no longer act as your leader.^[a] The Lord has told me, “You will not cross the Jordan.”^(B)

⁷ Moses was 120 years old when he died; his eyes were not weak, and his vitality had not left him.

²³ ‘When he was forty years old, he decided to visit his own people, the Israelites.
