Uncleanness in the Camp

⁹ When you are encamped against your enemies, keep away from everything impure.^{(A) 10} If one of your men is unclean because of a nocturnal emission, he is to go outside the camp and stay there.^{(B) 11} But as evening approaches he is to wash himself, and at sunset^(C) he may return to the camp.^(D)

⁵ Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves,^(A) for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things^(B) among you.”

¹¹ Uriah said to David, “The ark^(A) and Israel and Judah are staying in tents,^[a] and my commander Joab and my lord’s men are camped in the open country. How could I go to my house to eat and drink and make love^(B) to my wife? As surely as you live, I will not do such a thing!”
