²⁴‘Rise up, set out on your journey and ^(A)go over the Valley of the Arnon. Behold, I have given into your hand Sihon the Amorite, king of ^(B)Heshbon, and his land. Begin to take possession, and ^(C)contend with him in battle.

“Come to ^(B)Heshbon, let it be built;
    let the city of Sihon be established.
²⁸For ^(C)fire came out from ^(D)Heshbon,
    flame from the city of Sihon.
It devoured ^(E)Ar of Moab,
    and swallowed^[a] the heights of the Arnon.
