4 Luister, Israël, de Heer is onze God. De Heer is Eén.[a] 5 Houd van Hem met je hele hart, je hele ziel en alles wat je hebt. 6 Bewaar in je hart wat ik jullie vandaag leer. 7 Leer het aan je kinderen. Praat er met hen over als je thuis bent, als je onderweg bent, als je opstaat en als je naar bed gaat. 8 Bind het als een teken om je pols en als een herinnering om je voorhoofd.

4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.[a](A) 5 Love(B) the Lord your God with all your heart(C) and with all your soul and with all your strength.(D) 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts.(E) 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.(F) 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.(G)

5 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
