19 Now because of the greatness which He granted him, all the peoples, nations, and populations of all [a]languages trembled and feared in his presence; (A)whomever he wished, he killed, and whomever he wished, he spared alive; and whomever he wished he elevated, and whomever he wished he humbled. 20 But when his heart [b]was (B)arrogant and his spirit became so [c](C)overbearing that he behaved presumptuously, he was (D)deposed from his royal throne, and his dignity was taken away from him. 21 He was also (E)driven away from [d]mankind, and his heart was made like that of animals, and his dwelling place was with the (F)wild donkeys. He was given grass to eat like cattle, and his body was drenched with the dew of heaven, until he recognized that the (G)Most High God is ruler over the realm of mankind, and that He sets over it whomever He wishes.

20 But when his heart was lifted up, and his mind hardened in pride, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him:

21 And he was driven from the sons of men; and his heart was made like the beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild asses: they fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven; till he knew that the most high God ruled in the kingdom of men, and that he appointeth over it whomsoever he will.
