6 “Belteshazzar, chief of the magicians, I know that a spirit of the holy gods is in you and no mystery is too difficult for you; this is the dream that I saw, tell me its meaning.
7 “These were the visions I saw while in bed: I saw a tree of great height at the center of the earth. 8 It was large and strong, with its top touching the heavens, and it could be seen to the ends of the earth.

6 Therefore I issued a decree to bring in all the wise men of Babylon before me, that they might make known to me the interpretation of the dream. 7 (A)Then the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers came in, and I told them the dream; but they did not make known to me its interpretation. 8 But at last Daniel came before me (B)(his name is Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god; (C)in him is the Spirit of the Holy God), and I told the dream before him, saying:

6 So I commanded that all the wise men of Babylon be brought before me to interpret(A) the dream for me. 7 When the magicians,(B) enchanters, astrologers[a] and diviners(C) came, I told them the dream, but they could not interpret it for me.(D) 8 Finally, Daniel came into my presence and I told him the dream. (He is called Belteshazzar,(E) after the name of my god, and the spirit of the holy gods(F) is in him.)
