39 Con la ayuda de un dios extraño atacará las fortalezas más poderosas. Rendirá grandes honores a aquellos que lo reconozcan, pues en recompensa, los pondrá como gobernadores de grandes multitudes y les dará tierras.
40 »”Cuando llegue el tiempo del fin, el rey del sur trabará combate contra el rey del norte, pero este responderá a su ataque con carros y caballos, y con toda una flota de barcos de guerra. Invadirá muchos países y los arrasará como una inundación. 41 También invadirá la Hermosa Tierra, y muchos países caerán bajo su poder, aunque Edom y Moab y los jefes de Amón escaparán de sus manos.

39 Con un dios ajeno se hará de las fortalezas más inexpugnables, y colmará de honores a los que le reconozcan, y por precio repartirá la tierra.
40 Pero al cabo del tiempo el rey del sur contenderá con él; y el rey del norte se levantará contra él como una tempestad, con carros y gente de a caballo, y muchas naves; y entrará por las tierras, e inundará, y pasará. 41 Entrará a la tierra gloriosa, y muchas provincias caerán; mas estas escaparán de su mano: Edom y Moab, y la mayoría de los hijos de Amón.

39 He will attack the mightiest fortresses with the help of a foreign god and will greatly honor those who acknowledge him. He will make them rulers over many people and will distribute the land at a price.[a]
40 “At the time of the end the king of the South(A) will engage him in battle, and the king of the North will storm(B) out against him with chariots and cavalry and a great fleet of ships. He will invade many countries and sweep through them like a flood.(C) 41 He will also invade the Beautiful Land.(D) Many countries will fall, but Edom,(E) Moab(F) and the leaders of Ammon will be delivered from his hand.
