²⁰ And in every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all ^(A)the magicians and ^(B)enchanters that were in all his kingdom.

² Then the king commanded that ^(A)the magicians, ^(B)the enchanters, the ^(C)sorcerers, and ^(D)the Chaldeans be summoned to tell the king his dreams. So they came in and ^(E)stood before the king.

^10 (A)The Chaldeans answered the king and said, “There is not a man on earth who can meet the king's demand, for no great and powerful king has asked such a thing of any magician or enchanter or ^(B)Chaldean.

²⁷ Daniel answered the king and said, “No wise men, ^(A)enchanters, ^(B)magicians, or ^(C)astrologers can show to the king the mystery that the king has asked,

⁷ Then ^(A)the magicians, the enchanters, the Chaldeans, and the astrologers came in, and I told them the dream, but ^(B)they could not make known to me its interpretation.

^7 (A)The king called loudly to bring in ^(B)the enchanters, the ^(C)Chaldeans, and ^(D)the astrologers. The king declared^[a] to the wise men of Babylon, ^(E)“Whoever reads this writing, and shows me its interpretation, shall be clothed with purple and have a chain of gold around his neck and ^(F)shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.”

¹¹ There is a man in your kingdom ^(A)in whom is the spirit of the holy gods.^[a] In the days of your father, ^(B)light and understanding and wisdom like the wisdom of the gods were found in him, and King Nebuchadnezzar, your father—your father the king—^(C)made him chief of the magicians, ^(D)enchanters, Chaldeans, and astrologers,

¹⁵ Now ^(A)the wise men, the ^(B)enchanters, have been brought in before me to read this writing and make known to me its interpretation, but ^(C)they could not show the interpretation of the matter.
