²⁴     Ships will come from the shores of Cyprus;^(A)
they will subdue Ashur^(B) and Eber,^(C)
    but they too will come to ruin.^(D)”

¹⁰ Cross over to the coasts of Cyprus^(A) and look,
    send to Kedar^[a](B) and observe closely;
    see if there has ever been anything like this:

¹² He said, “No more of your reveling,^(A)
    Virgin Daughter^(B) Sidon, now crushed!

“Up, cross over to Cyprus;^(C)
    even there you will find no rest.”

Wail,^(B) you ships^(C) of Tarshish!^(D)
    For Tyre is destroyed^(E)
    and left without house or harbor.
From the land of Cyprus
    word has come to them.

¹² Therefore rejoice, you heavens^(A)
    and you who dwell in them!
But woe^(B) to the earth and the sea,^(C)
    because the devil has gone down to you!
He is filled with fury,
    because he knows that his time is short.”
